Sofia Kaneva is a cultural studies specialist and project consultant with a focus on cultural policy and project management for independent artistic organizations.

She holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and a Master’s degree in Democracy and Human Rights in Southeast Europe from the University of Sarajevo and the University of Bologna. She is currently a PhD candidate in Semiotics of Culture at Sofia University. She has also completed a program in Design, Creative, and Visualization at SoftUni.

Her professional experience includes working as a project coordinator at Transparency International Bulgaria. Since 2022, she has been part of the team at Emergency Theater Foundation, an independent theater company and dramaturgical laboratory. She collaborates closely with Integrated Artists Gallery and Sdruzhenie Po Deistvitelen Sluchay as a project consultant. Since 2023, she has also been involved in the realization of original projects by Snezhina Bogdanova, contributing as a graphic designer.
